Mission Statement

The Mission of USA Volleyball’s National High Performance Program
The mission of USAV’s National HP Program is to identify elite junior volleyball athletes, promote and implement training and competition for these athletes and junior coaches across the US, and to achieve sustained competitive excellence for all USAV National Teams.

The Mission of USA SCVA Regional High Performance Program
The mission of USA Regional HP Programs are to further the USAV mission statement at the regional level. Each USAV Region is developed as a “Regional Arm” of the National HP Program. Our goal is to identify elite junior volleyball athletes, promote and implement training and competition for these athletes and coaches, and to achieve sustained competitive excellence for all USAV National Teams.

As in the USAV National there are certain steps that must be taken in order for coaches to move up and through the coaches pipeline in the SCVA HP Program. SCVA HP Program is dedicated to the development of both athletes and coaches alike.

SCVA High Performance Program Coaching Requirements
Apprentice HP Coach:
Min. of 1 year coaching experience as an assistant or head coach at any level.
Member of SCVA region
Impact certified
Volunteer at tryout, camps and team training

Assistant HP Coach:
Min. of 3 yrs. coaching experience at the high school, club or college level.
Member of SCVA region
Impact Certified
CAP level 1 certified (effective 2007)
Volunteer at tryout and camps for 1 year
1st year coaching= no salary. We pay for flights, hotel, meals, etc only.

Head HP Coach:
Min. of 5 yrs. coaching experience with a min. of 3 years head coaching experience at the high school, club or college level
Member of SCVA region
Impact Certified
CAP level 1 certified (effective 2007)
Volunteer at tryout and camps for 2 years, 3rd year as the head coach of 12’s
Camp or 3 yrs. as volunteer at tryout and camps. (total of 3 summers of volunteer work)
Assistant HP coach min. of 2 years.

HEAD COACHES MUST BE APPROVED BY REGION AS WELL AS THE
NATIONAL HP OFFICE. ASSISTANT COACHES WILL BE SELECTED AND APPROVED BY THE REGIONAL OFFICE.
